Sailfish on light tackle

November 2, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

This is a video of Thomas playing a Sailfish on his light tackle setup meant for the Spanish Mackerel. The Sailfish took the drifted live Yellowtail Scad rigged onto a 12 pounds setup. The reel is a tiny Okuma VS20 mounted on Thomas’ very own hand crafted Thomas Stroker rod.

A testament to a well made rod in the hands of experienced anglers. The fish was landed in about 10 minutes and swam away perhaps to terrorize another angler on another day.

I heard Edward fed the fish with what he ate, twice! Way to go bro. I am sure the Sails will remember you.

The sea was rough on Thursday. And we had a few “berley-men” on board working overtime.

Everytime they puked (yucks!) a fish will come and take our bait. Very effective.

Will always leave my mark (PUKE) behind, guys. Anyway, its our “BERLEY” that attracted most of the sail fishes.
AND FOR YOUR KIND INFO.. MY 20 bucks rod and 2nd hand bait runner is the TRUE CHAMPION.
